 Trekking, mountain bike and walking excursions.
 
 
For the lovers of sport and nature Seggiano is
your ideal place.
 
This town stands at 491 mt above sea level 
and it is immersed in natural scenary,
rich of chestnut, olive groves and beech woods.
 
Seggiano offers the possibility to do 
walking excursions and horse riding covering
the well-marked paths that arrive at the top of
the Monte Amiata.
 
You can crossed a lot of this paths also by bike.

 
For cycling holidays is recommended a
comfortable bycicle right for every
type of land.
 
But also for the classic cycling holidays there are 
a lot of ways that pass into the wood
of Monte Amiata.
 
The main walking path is "La Via della Castagna"
(The Way of Chestnut), that cross the Faunal Park
of Monte Amiata.  
This track is very important for its interesting
of culture and folklore;
in fact traditions and ancient professions
of chestnut culture are here rediscovered.
Ski in Seggiano
When the white snow covers the ancient volcano
the winter sports can start.
Seggiano has a ski resort, La Marsiliana that is
situated at 1420 mt above sea level.
It provides for ski-lift and for the most modern 
facilities that permit to arrive at the top
of the mountain.
 
From here you can enjoy of the
down-hill runs (about 25 Km) and the
fund ski runs (about 12 Km).
 
In Marsiliana you will find also ski instructors
and sports ground for children and
inexperienced people.

The most important event in Seggiano

is the traditional "Sagra delle Ciliege",

a gastronomic town festival devoted

to cherry.

 

It takes place every year on

the second Sunday of June and

it celebrate the arrival of summer.

 

This period is propitious for the

cherry picking; the cherries

will be used to prepare jams

and liqueurs; moreover cherry stones

will be used to extract a very good oil.

 

The most important religious event is

"Festa di San Bernardino", the protector

of Seggiano; it takes place

every year on 21 March.
