Santa Fiora is located at 687 metres above the sea level, on a cliff. It is located in the province of Grosseto, in Tuscany. Santa Fiora is important for popular traditions and environmental characters that still preserves, and it is a place of rest and pleasant stay in the territory of the Amiata; Entering in Santa Fiora is inevitable remain surprised by the state of preservation of the village, characterized by paths which are a small maze. In the territory of Santa Fiora there are traces of the Neolithic and the Bronze Age. Today, is a climate station, important place to pick mushrooms and chestnuts, and for hunting. In Santa Fiora there are the springs of the river Flora, 60 km long. Many years ago the springs of the river Flora fed the ”Peschiera”. Now they feed a network of aqueducts direct to the south of Tuscany.

The “Peschiera” is one of the biggest attractions in the country, is located in the district of Montecatino, near a park that has trees such as cypress, pine, oak and chestnut. In the “Peschiera” swim many fishes, in particular trout. Nine kilometres from Santa Fiora there is the magnificent “Parco faunistico Monte Amiata”, inspired by the German wild park. In the park there are a lot of paths that permit to see many different animals species found in central Apennines, including: buck, deer, mouflon, roebuck, chamois and many other animals, naturally, as porcupine, fox, badger, polecat, hare, squirrel, dormouse, wild boar, and others, but what can make an unforgettable emotion is the possibility to see the wolf of the Appennini.

Of naturalistic interest is also the wood of SS. Trinità, 16 hectares of natural reserve where there is the beautiful convent of SS. Trinity.
Santa Fiora is the ideal place for lovers of trekking. The woods are easily for walking, for horse driving and for excursions in mountain bike, following a network of paths designed by ancient hunters and woodsmen.
The Mountain Bike Team Santa Fiora, made up a lovers of sport, was born in January 1995 and immediately begins many activities to promoting mountain biking and Amiata land.
Mount Amiata also is a wonderful land for travel by motorbike. Santa Fiora may be the ideal place as a base for excursions
