“ITINERARY OF CHESTNUTS” 

Duration: 3 days

Price: about £160 

Day 1:   You arrive in the afternoon. You are accommodated in a 3 star hotel, in a central position in town. Free time for the first visit of Piancastagnaio. In the evening, for the dinner, you will go to “Il Crastatone”, the main chestnut festival in Piancastagnaio, in the streets of the historical centre with open wine cellars, tasting of typical dishes and specialities based on chestnuts. 

Day 2:   After the breakfast, you will visit the town with the church of Madonna di S.Pietro and the church of San Bartolomeo, which house ancient frescos, and the medieval walls. After lunch at the hotel (optional), you will visit the medieval castle, today used as a museum. Afterwards, you will go to the festival with the many stands with local dishes (that you can buy), public convenients and debates with the musical accompaniment of street artists, all until very late at night. 

Day 3:   After breakfast, you will visit the palace Bourbon del Monte, the ancient feudal residence of the great local sirs. After the visit, you go back home.  

Your holiday includes:

·      2 nights in a 3 star hotel accommodation in the towncentre

·      2 B&B, 1 lunch at the hotel (optional) and 2 dinners at the festival

·      entry to the castle

·      entry to the palace
