Arcidosso is one of the larger and charming Amiata towns. Arcidosso was the birthplace of Davide Lazzeretti, the most extraordinary figure that Monte Amiata has produced. The name “Arcidosso” probably derives from the Latin words “Arx” and “Dossum” (Fortress and Hill).

ST.NICOLAS MEDIEVAL CHURCH
This church has a Romanesque style. The inside, bare, austere, with old trachyte altars, is more interesting than the façade.
